THE SAND DUNES OF TALAKADU
Talakadu is a desert like town, 180 km from Bangalore on the left bank of river Kaveri. It is the meeting place of river Kapila and Kaveri & is known for its sand dunes.
Karnataka has two UNESCO world heritage sites. Hampi & Pattadakal.
Hampi, the historic capital of the Vijayanagar empire in the 14th century, is home to around 500 marvelous historic monuments. The Chalukya empire ruled from Aihole, Badamai and Pattadakal and you can see an architectural marvel in Red sandstone.
